About Me

I have been practicing therapy as a licensed therapist since 2010. My therapeutic background includes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (or DBT) with teens and families. I was part of the Contra Costa County Central Clinic for Children, Adolescents and Families in Concord, California, for 7 years. I co-facilitated DBT groups for teens and their parents and met for individual therapy with suicidal teens. I also worked with younger children and their family on childhood trauma and attachment challenges.

In addition, I worked with acutely mentally ill young adults in Pittsburg, CA, helping them with financial responsibility and self-reliance. I initiated a DBT program for this population and felt successful helping many acutely mentally ill clients become more functional.

Currently, my practice focuses on adults. I do well with adults who are still struggling with childhood trauma and attachment issues. I find that IFS and The Work are a good combination for inner child work and unburdening parts. I also work with adult clients who want to feel more empowered through working through patterns of depression and anxiety. These patterns almost always have their roots in childhood, and both the Work and IFS go right to the roots of these issues.

I also have experience and training in Projective Dream Work, as taught and created by Jeremy Taylor. I was part of projective dream work groups for over ten years both as participant and leader.

I have a Mindfulness Certificate for teaching teens/children through the Marin Mindfulness Institute. These skills transfer nicely in work with Adults. And, my graduate program had a focus on depth psychology and the work of Carl Jung. I consider Jungian psychology a broad and helpful lens through which to understand the our minds.
